The Minolta Dynax 5 (also called the Maxxum 5 or Alpha 5) is one of our favourite 35mm SLRs from the late era of film cameras. It’s an engineering marvel: very small and light, easy to use, yet loaded with advanced features. This very underrated camera employs many of the advances introduced with the (rightfully lauded) Maxxum 7 professional SLR in a smaller, lighter package. 

A sharp Minolta Maxxum AF 50mm f1.7 lens is included.

This camera requires two CR2 lithium batteries (available as an option).

Condition notes

We film tested this camera and it delivered sharp, correctly exposed photos. The camera and lens are in very good cosmetic condition (see photos). We also verified the camera’s shutter speeds (except 1/4000 which is out of the range of our tester) and autoexposure accuracy.
