The Yashica Auto Focus Motor II (or AF-M II) is a quality, compact 35mm point-and-shoot from 1985. This camera features a sharp, 4-element 35mm f3.5 lens.
As a product of the early days of the Kyocera/Yashica merger, this camera is close cousin of the highly-regarded Yashica T AF (many of their key specifications are identical).
Note: this is the version with an optional quartz date imprinting feature. We didn’t test this feature (it requires a CR2025 battery) as the calendar only goes up to 2019.
Battery information
The Auto Focus Motor II requires two alkaline AA batteries (not included).
This camera is not compatible with rechargeable or lithium AA batteries. According to the manual, the battery life is: “About 120 rolls of 24-exposure film without flash, about 12 rolls when all frames are exposed with flash (with new alkaline batteries, at normal temperature).”

Condition notes
We tested all the camera’s features (except for the date imprinting, as mentioned above) and it’s working correctly. The camera is in very good cosmetic condition (see photos). The included original case is also in good condition for its age (see photo).
